Street Life In The Lower East Side Of NYC.

I used to work right off Avenue D, in New York City. Everyone knows that location as part of Alphabet City. The neighbored is filled with unique environments, and people--which provided me with endless opportunities for my photography. I always carried a camera to work just in case something awesome were to develop in front of me.

During the work week, I would take the R train from Queens NY and get off at 8th Street. From there I would walk to my shop on Ave D and 6th Street. I would walk about 30 minutes (depending on my pace), and look for locations that would make for a good photo. My goal for the morning portion of my walk was to take photos of scenery.

After work was done, I would walk back to 8th Street to take the R back to Queens. I didn't always take the same route to the R train, though. I would pick a street during the day and walk it back to 8th. The sole purpose of my afternoon walk was photographing the people who called Alphabet City home.

Here are some photos from my archive. I plan to continue documenting the LES once life goes back to normal.
